Jean Abreu

(Artistic Director / Choreographer)
Jean Abreu graduated from the Laban Centre in 1999 and was quickly singled out as a unique and exciting contemporary dance talent.He choreographed his first work in 2003, and has since toured throughout the UK (including London Dance Umbrella and the Southbank Centre); as well as to the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Brazil, Ukraine, Croatia and Mexico.

Winner of the prestigious Jerwood Choreography Award (2003), Jean has been an Associate Artist at The Place and an Artist-in-Residence at Dance East.

In 2008 he collaborated on the Young Vic Theatre‘s production Amazonia and in 2009 he premiered The Boulevard of Broken Dreams in collaboration with Mavron String Quartet, touring it in England and Wales. Jean is currently an Associate Artist at Swindon Dance and the Hat Factory.
